Suzy moved to Steamboat with her family in 1968. She graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1974. Her love of skiing made her decide to pursue a 5 year career as a professional Freestyle skier. For 5 years she traveled through the United States and Europe training and competing. Her love of architecture and design blossomed with her travels.
She worked for two different design firms before deciding to establish her own firm in 1984. The firm was known as Lord Interiors. When her husband mark joined their businesses to be both design and building, they changed the name to Interior Concepts.
Mark moved to Steamboat Springs in September of 1976 to take a year off after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Industrial Tech Education before pursuing a master's degree. Seems the "Yampa Valley curse" is true... Since then, Mark has worked as a lead finish carpenter and cabinet maker for various general contractors, developers and clients. In 2000 Mark and Suzy decided to put their talents together and offer full service interior design, contracting and finishes.
Since combining forces, the Lords have completed many projects for condominiums, homes and hotels. Some of their larger projects include Sunburst Condominiums, The Enclave, The Porches, Cross Timbers, Eagle Ridge, Christie Club and Sundance Townhomes as well as several high end homes in Dakota Ridge and Catamount.
